A traditional hummus is made using chickpeas but here is a version which is much richer in protein because of the use of hemp hearts or hemp shelled seeds. It makes for a great dip with chips, lavash crisps, pita bread, or can be used as a spread too.
Ingredients
- 400gm chickpeas (cooked, drained and rinsed)
- 2tbsp hemp hearts
- 2tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 2 tbsp hemp seed oil
- 1 tsp garlic
- 2 tbsp water
Method
Blend all ingredients together in a food processor or blender until smooth. Drizzle some more hemp seed oil on top.
